CSAP FALL EXAM 2009 PREPARATION & REFRESHER WORKSHOP SERIES; Oct and Nov, 2009

Who should attend?
  • Current CSAP exam candidates, prospective members, other contaminated site practitioners, and CSAP members who would like to refresh their understanding
Each of the 4 sessions will cover a specific area of practice:
  • Session 1: Oct 8, 2009; Roster Review Process
  • Session 2: Oct 29, 2009; Regulatory Review
  • Session 3: Nov 5, 2009; Numerical Standards Review
  • Session 4: Nov 5, 2009; Risk Assessment Review

You can attend one or any combination of sessions that interest you. CSAP members can claim PD hours for attending

CSAP FALL TECHNICAL PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP; Oct 15, 2009

Workshop Objectives:
  • Provide an update on how to complete a submission and be ready should your submission be randomly selected for a Performance Assessment (PA)
  • Provide clarification on the pressing issues of the day

PD Technical Discussion Topics:

MoE staff will co-panel rotating discussion groups with CSAP representatives on the following topics:
  • PA lessons learned
  • Soil Vapour Issues
  • Risk Assessments
Start time: 8:30 check-in and refreshments
Orientation: 9:00 - 9:15 am; Attendees will be placed into 3 groups to rotate through the topics on the hour

Debrief: 12:15 - 12:30 pm

Venue: Terminal City Club, 837 West Hastings St., Vancouver

Must register to attend: MORNING SESSION REGISTRATION. Workshop qualifies for 4 hours of PD time.

Non-CSAP members welcome, registration fee $50.


GOING FOR GOLD @ CANADIAN BROWNFIELDS 2009, Oct 26-28, Vancouver

"The fast track to smarter communities"

Now in its 10th year, the Canadian Brownfields conference is Canda's national conference and trade show focusing on the redevelopment of under-utilized properties as a catalyst for sustainable, vibrant and liveable communities. The theme of this year's conference is particulary relevant to today's economic landscape, with a program geared towards critical issues of reinvestment and stimulation of the economy. The 2009 conference will feature workshops, tours, and 3 full days of networking in the Brownfields Marketplace. The conference will also feature the 9th annual CUI Brownie Awards, which recognizes excellences in brownfields redevelopment accross Canada.
