CSAP applications for the November 2010 sitting of examination are now being accepted
Deadline for application: July 5, 2010

It is anticipated that applicants will be advised of their eligibilty by August 31, 2010.

Examination Schedule
The examination is offered in three parts:
  • Standards Assessment Technical Part - Tuesday, Nov 16, 2010 from 8:30am to 1:30pm (5 hours)
  • Regulatory Part - Wednesday, Nov 17, 2010 from 8:30am to 1:30pm (5 hours)
  • Risk Assessment Technical Part - Thursday, Nov 18, 2010 from 8:30am to 1:30pm (5 hours)

Note: Reporting time for all parts is 8:00am

The examination is offered in a computer-based format and will be held at the following computer test lab:

Examination Guides

Examination Guides prepared for 2009 Examination candidates.

The guides provide important information on the examination format and content and include a syllabus and list of suggested reference materials for each part of the examination.

Each part of the examination consists of approximately 70 multiple choice questions worth one point each.

The CSAP examination programs incorporate the Standards for Education and Psychological Testing. The Standards are recognized worldwide as the criterion to judge whether examinations have been designed to be psychometrically sound and legally defensible.

CSAP Examinations Summary

November 2009 Examination Summary:

  • Regulatory: 60% of candidates passed
  • Standards Assessment Technical: 57% of candidates passed
  • Risk Assessment Technical: 50% of candidates passed

November 2008 Examination Summary:

  • Regulatory: 66% of candidates passed
  • Standards Assessment Technical: 87% of candidates passed
  • Risk Assessment Technical: 42% of candidates passed

October 2007 Examination Summary:

  • Regulatory: 70% of candidates passed
  • Standards Assessment Technical: 50% of candidates passed
  • Risk Assessment Technical: 33% of candidates passed

Application Fees

The Society Roster qualifying examination is intended to be run on a cost-recovery basis. The fees stated below have been set to recover 100% of the examination development and administrative expenses incurred. Additional expenses will be subsidized by Contaminated Sites Approved Professionals Development funding.

Experience Review Fees

Standards Assessment Specialist: $500.00 + HST = $560
   
Risk Assessment Specialist: $500.00 + HST = $560

Applicants for membership only pay this fee once. Where it has been determined by the Membership Committee that an applicant is deficient, and is assigned additional specific experience, the applcant does not pay the fee again when having the additional experience reviewed.

Examination Fees

Standards Assessment Technical: $750 + HST = $840
   
Risk Assessment Technical: $750 + HST = $840
   
Regulatory: $750 + GST = $840

Applicants have until two weeks prior to the date of their examination to formally withdraw in writing, and have their examination fees returned to them.
